II Feria del libro del IES Palomares

Estos días está teniendo lugar en el centro la II Feria del Libro, organizada por el departamento de Lengua y Literatura.

Por este motivo, además de poder comprar libros con un 30% de descuento, se están realizando distintas actividades: lectura en voz alta de El Quijote por parte de los alumnos, presentación de libros a cargo de distintos autores, etc.

- Presentación del libro de Manuel Jesús Roldán: Eso no estaba en mi libro de Historia del Arte.

Manuel Jesús Roldán es profesor de enseñanza secundaria y universitario. Licenciado en Geografía e Historia (especialidad Historia del Arte), sus libros se centran principalmente en temas sevillanos. Colabora actualmente en la Cadena Cope. Durante su charla nos expuso un resumen de su nuevo libro: mujeres que no suelen aparecer en los manuales de Arte, intentos de destrucción de obras artísticas, personalidades extravagantes, artistas suicidas, el tratamiento del desnudo a lo largo de los siglos, etc.  

- Daniel Ruiz García es periodista, novelista y experto en comunicación. Acaba de ganar el premio Tusquets de novela (La gran ola) y escribe en el periódico ABC de Sevilla. Ha hecho un recorrido autobiográfico desde que era adolescente y empezó a escribir sus primeros relatos hasta la actualidad, parándose en los momentos y motivos decisivos que le han formado como escritor y persona. Ha realzado la importancia del trabajo y el esfuerzo para lograr cualquier objetivo, incluso artístico. Como es un gran narrador, ha cuajado de anécdotas su relato captando la atención y la simpatía de todos.

Thanksgiving Day

Hoy 23 de Noviembre hemos celebrado Thanksgiving Day (el día de acción de gracias). Se han realizado fichas, visionado de vídeos y presentaciones, en algunos casos con la ayuda de Emilio, nuestro auxiliar de conversación. Los alumnos han aprovechado este día para expresar su gratitud hacia su familia, amigos, etc. Algunos han plasmado estos deseos en las plumas de un pavo.

Vídeos de terror

También con motivo de Halloween algunos alumnos de 3º y 4º han realizado unos vídeos de terror.  El premio ha sido ganado por el llamado "The psychopath girlfriend". Sus autores son:

Horror stories

Los alumnos de 3º y 4º han participado en un concurso de  relatos y microrrelatos en inglés, con motivo de la celebración de Halloween. Los ganadores han sido:

- Gabriela Castilla  (microrrelato)
- Claudia Bolaños  (relato).

Aquí los tenéis:

- Micro story One day, while I was in my house watching TV, I heard a low noise but I didn't know what it was. Suddenly the mobile phone rang and I went to take it. When I picked it up I saw that there was blood on the floor and on the wall. And suddenly someone killed me and my spirit never left my house...

- Story (A black hand) I was sleeping when the door opened. I didn't care at that moment, because I thought it could be because of the wind.The next night the door opened again and I decided to close it... I couldn't! I didn't know why. I tried to close it for 3 minutes and then I saw a black hand on my shoulder. I shouted but suddenly other hands appeared and started to hold me down. When I woke up I was tied in my bed. My mother and my father were crying a lot, when a doctor entered the room. I couldn't hear what he said exactly but I could understand three words..."dangerous","crazy" and "medicines". At that moment I understood everything... I am ill, I was never in my bedroom, this is a hospital, I see things which other people can't. The black bands were nurses and they were trying to help me, but I couldn't see that... because I'm crazy and I must escape...

En 2º de ESO, los alumnos tenían que completar una historia presentada por el profesor. La ganadora ha sido Irene Montero, con el siguiente relato:

A HALLOWEEN STORY

One Halloween my friends and I were going trick-or-treating in our neighbourhood. Down the street from us was an old deserted house that everyone thought was haunted. My mother said “Don’t you dare go near that house!”. Naturally, her warning made us even more curious. We went to the house and rang the bell. There was no answer. We tried the door. It was unlocked, so we entered the house. The door slammed behind us and…  we could not go out.

The first thing we saw was a skeleton that seemed alive. We began to run and we arrived a room where there was a big table. Around the table terryfing dolls were sitting down. We were very afraid. My best friend said: “We should return and go out of this horrible house”,  but the door was closed, so we had to stay in the house. Then we went to the kitchen where a lot of knives were on the wall. We saw a door and we ran to it. When we opened the door…  we heard a loud noise, BUUU, and…  our parents were there and they were laughing. Then we knew that it was a joke. It was the best Halloween in my life.

Halloween

El martes 31 celebramos el segundo concurso de tartas terroríficas elaboradas por los alumnos de 1º y 2º de ESO y organizado por el departamento de idiomas. La participación fue muy alta y todas estaban riquísimas.

Los ganadores fueron:

1º premio: Ángela Fariño y Roberta Fernández de 1º A.

2º premio: Jacinto Palma, de 1º D.

3º premio: Natalia Morales y María Pérez, de 1º C

Día europeo de las lenguas

El  26 de septiembre celebramos el Día Europeo de las Lenguas y con ese motivo nuestro alumnado bilingüe  realizó una serie de actividades: murales, exposiciones orales,  y como actividad final participaron en un Kahoot. Las actividades fueron un  éxito total y nuestros alumnos aprendieron  mucho sobre la riqueza lingüística de Europa. Aquí os dejamos algunas fotos de las actividades realizadas.
